One process, end to end
Start with the trigger and follow the work to completion. An enquiry might need recording, assigning, acknowledging and following up. Improving one step helps; joining the right steps can remove repeated handling.
Keep the judgement with your team
Routine routing can follow agreed rules. An unusual request, a missing detail or a commercial decision should reach the right person with the context they need. Human checkpoints belong in the design.
Build around what is possible
The tools you use may offer APIs, exports or native integrations. Some connections have limits or require a paid plan. Check access and constraints before promising that two systems can work together.
Plan for the exceptions
Duplicate records, changed formats and interrupted connections happen. A useful workflow needs a way to flag failures, recover safely and avoid repeating an action that has already completed.
